Cisco is a great choice for IP phones and offers many different models and price points. The price typically increases based on the number of lines that a particular model has, while the main features offered actually remain fairly consistent. When you start looking for color or touch screen models the price does escalate though. The following series are currently available on the market:
These are some of their cheapest models and are perfect for small businesses and home offices. Despite the lower price, these are still full featured business class phones. The 300 series DO NOT SUPPORT PoE (Power over Ethernet). These are a popular choice for a hosted VoIP solution. You can read our review of the Cisco SPA303 here.
The 500 series includes a large selection of models and offer features for more advanced business needs. These phones are similar to the 300 series but all models DO SUPPORT PoE. There are also more options for the number of lines supported on each model, ranging from one to twelve lines. A color screen is also available on the SPA525G model. This is the widest selection of phones available and there are FIVE different series to choose from depending on the needs of your business. The Unified IP phones are most commonly used with a Cisco powered on-premise solution. For more details visit Unified IP Phones.
Cisco recently released a Unified Communications (UC) soft phone app for the PC, MAC, Android, iOS and Windows phones known as Cisco Spark. This could be very useful for small businesses looking for instant messaging, video and voice chats and desktop sharing.

phone has a bad sound system - you can not hear at times the conversation and that is with the volume turned up to the top also there is a wave sound which the provider blames on the internet provider

Great phone, great price, good features. Does not support POE but came with a power adapter. Also a nice professional looking phone with good sound quality.

This is a great phone and covers all the basic needs that the majority of users would have. It has a nice look and feel to it similar to Cisco's other IP phone series that are used with its callmanager solution. It does not come with a power supply so if you don't have POE functionality make sure you buy a power brick with the phone. Overall I would recommend this phone as a decent priced lower end option.

The SPA504G is a great phone for basic phone usage. It probably would not be ideal for an executive or a receptionist -as it is light on features, but it definitely gets the job done for basic functions. The voice quality is superb. For me the online admin portal is why I continue to use this phone - the most important feature being the call history log. I definitely recommend this phone along with service from Jive.

Easy to use VoIP phone. Swapped out an older 7960 for a 7970 that we had in inventory. Happy with it so far and like the nice color screen. Easy to program basic features similar to the 7960 which makes sense as I think it is the same model family. Has everything I need. For reference, the call management system that this is connected to is a Cisco on-premise controller.

From a software point of view the phone is operable, not very exciting, but it does the job. But I now have 4 out of my 28 phones where the adjustable ratcheting foot has stopped working and the phone just falls flat on the table. Nothing that I can figure out happened to them, one day they simply stopped working. Very odd - and rather annoying as these are not inexpensive phones.

I have personally installed over 100 of these phones to date. Out all these that I deployed I haven't had to replace one. They have been running for over a year now and I have had zero sound issues. Note that abbreviations are very common on phones these days so you will need t understand teh standard ones when using this phone (e.g. xfer means transfer etc). If you want a feature rich solid phone with the Cisco name that is easy to deploy then look no further.
