This is a detailed comparison of
Nextiva and Vonage Business VoIP service plans, and provides a quick
evaluation and comparison of features, plans and pricing. For ease of
use, the comparison table shown below is broken into seven main sections comprising of customer
service (hours and location), premium features (these cost extra),
contract terms, advanced features (not every provider offers these),
common features, Smartphone App support and available plug-ins (e.g. CRM
integration). Pricing is of a course a key factor and is also compared
and discussed in detail.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an extremely comprehensive
and detailed comparison of these services and is NOT the typical
comparison of a dozen or so features that you will see on other VoIP
related sites. To compare more VoIP providers, please use our
Provider Feature Comparison
Tool.
Nextiva Versus Vonage Business
When comparing Nextiva vs
Vonage Business, there are a number of differences in the service packages.
The information in the table below can be summarized as follows:
- Pricing:
The Nextiva Office Plan has better pricing for
businesses with 10 or fewer users while Vonage is the cheapest
option for businesses with 11 to 20 users. For larger businesses,
the pricing is comparable except for the Nextiva Office Enterprise
which has a higher base price but adds a number of features. As such
it is recommended that price quotes are obtained directly from
Nextiva or Vonage that have optional add-ons included where
necessary. That will then enable a clear apples to apples pricing
comparison. Alternatively, add-up the pricing in the table below and
estimate the final cost per month for a service plan when required
add-on features are included in the price.
- Customer Service:
Both providers have similar customer support
hours and are located in the USA.
- Premium Features:
Both providers offer a number of
premium feature add-ons. One notable difference is that Vonage
offers meet-me conferencing for approximately $5 per month less than
Nextiva and also supports up to 30 attendees as opposed to Nextiva
which supports up to 9 attendees. Nextiva does however include group
paging and both call and hunt groups with its base package, and also
provides virtual fax service for VoIP service subscribers.
- Advanced Features:
Vonage offers more features in
this bucket but it is important to check which specific features are
available, as although Vonage may offer more features, it may be
Nextiva that offers a feature that you really want, such as BLF or Hoteling.
- App Support:
Vonage does not currently offer a free
App for the Blackberry Smartphone while Nextiva does.
- Plug-ins:
Vonage offers a wide selection of plug-ins
for 3rd party software whereas Nextiva does not currently offer
these integrations. Vonage has one of the widest selections of
these apps available from any VoIP provider.
In summary, both Nextiva and Vonage Business are great choices for your
business phone system. Make sure you spend time checking the feature
support as it is most likely that some things are more critical to your
business needs than others.
