Internet goes out 10-15 times per week. I am in IT professional capable of doing my own troubleshooting. My neighbor goes out also - and I call for both of us. Comcast has poorly trained staff who treats me like an idiot and tells me that "the modem is online" and "microsoft downloads new settings all the time the problem is something with your system." Promised 6.0MBps getting 1.8MBps when it's up. Comcast suggesting I pay another $40 per month for 8.0MBps. If I had any other choice where I live it would not be Comcast. Overall I'm handing them $180 per month.

My biggest complaint is that when I went to any website there was a message telling me to download their latest software. After doing so and trying to install it I kept getting an error message and to call Comcast. After doing so they told me that my bill is overdue even though I did pay them by check so they cut off my service. I never heard of any company cutting off service because of being a little late with payment. Finally they called saying they found the check. Meanwhile I was out of computer service for a few days. It might not sound like much but I do a lot of important things like paying bills, etc. so I need my computer access and they just shut off service with no warning.

Comcast may be the worst company I have ever had to deal with internet wise or not. My internet goes out or 3 times a week and when I call they just tell me it must be something wrong with my system. However I live on a military base so I know my neighbors and people all over the base are always having trouble with the service. As far as the broadband service goes it is not consistent and the cable televisions sucks horribly. On demand works half the time and most of the time you get halfway through a movie and the thing freezes up. Too bad there is not really any competition so they can do what they want.

This was easy to order but I do have one complaint. There was a special offer of a free modem, however it wasn't until you select on the order form "I have my own cable modem" and then submit the order that you are then forwarded to a page explaining how to get your free modem. The set up was very easy. I even had a wireless router between the modem and the PC and it was painless. The speed is always a little under 2Mbits which is about 30% faster then my old DSL connection. The special offer just now is $19.99 for 6 months which is excellent. I plan to switch to VoIP soon and get rid of my landline therefore I can't use DSL. This forced me into switching to cable and even though it's only been a few weeks I am glad I have.
