IPFone, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Miami, provide a Hosted Unified Communication platform which delivers premium telephony service and cloud communications for small to large businesses in Florida and throughout the United States. Their system is based on the Broadsoft softswitch, which is now owned by Cisco, and they service thousands of businesses nationwide. As well as Florida they have offices in Georgia and Philadelphia.
Let's start with the hosted Unified Communications plans (VoIP phone service) that they provide. They offer four (4) main plans named "Softphone", "Basic", "Standard", and "Premium". All plans include unlimited US calling, 50+ premium features, voicemail, number porting and join as meeting participant.
The Softphone plan is $19.95 per month per user. As the name suggests we presume this plan is only for those that purely want a softphone solution only, without desk phones and additional hardware. This plan only includes the items listed above for all plans.
The Basic plan is $21.95 per month per user. This plan includes all the items mentioned above plus it also lists messaging with Teams and Spaces, voice and video conferencing, file sharing, full screen and gallery view, multi-party chat, web guest experience, whiteboarding/annotation, space meetings, device pair with Cisco endpoints, and join from a video system (Cisco Collaboration Meeting Room - CMR).
The Standard plan is $24.95 per month per user. This plan includes all that the Basic plan includes plus it lists personal meeting room, call-in audio number, and scheduled meeting features.
The Premium plan is $34.95 per month per user. This plans includes everything that comes with the Standard plan plus it also lists lock meeting, recordings, transcriptions, floor control, presenter / password protection control, media quality indicator, and remote desktop control features.
Various IP phones are available to buy or rent through IPFone, incluindg Cisco, Polycom and Yealink devices. The Polycom IP phones listed are the VVX series, starting from $74 to $179 to purchase, and $2.50 to $7 per month to rent. The Yealink IP phones includes a selection of the T4 and T5 series and range from $95 to $249 to purchase, and $4 to $9 per month to rent. You can contact IPFone for help 24/7/365 on their toll free phone number. They also have a learning center, a support center, a downloads center (for Windows/MAC softphone), and a page where you can create a support ticket, all through their website. The learning center includes how to type articles for various subjects such as the portal and dashboard, the softphones, hardware phones, as well as some troubleshooting guides. The support center seems to be focused around downloads with some how to videos of features.
IPFone can be integrated with Microsoft Teams, providing the ability to make and receive calls to the PSTN. They also have some CRM integrations, although they do not list any specific CRMs. Other solutions they offer include virtual agents (AI-powered), call recording (HIPAA compliant), systems for hotels (hospitality), and call management and call center analytics.
Other products that IPFone offer include high speed Internet, contact center, SIP trunking, and SD-WAN services.
The support sections seem a little disjointed and spread across multiple sections.
There does not appear to be a full list of the 50+ premium features on their website. You may have to contact them directly to check for specific features of interest.
If you want to rent phones then you will need to agree to a 36 month minimal term. You must also enter the rental agreement at the same time you sign up for service.
There is no mention of a Fair Use Policy, often referred to as an Acceptable Use Policy. Most VoIP providers include one of these if they offer "unlimited minutes", and it provides some protection to the provider against abusive usage.
IPFone are a well established VoIP provider with over 20+ years in the industry. Their Unified Communications service offering is based on the Broadsoft softswitch platform that is well renowned in the VoIP industry.
Competitive pricing along with 24/7/365 phone support makes IPFone a real contender. We recommend contacting them for pricing for your exact needs, especially if you are in the Florida region of the United States.
