Cancelled ITP service and was immediately billed additional service fees of $99.00. Why? I RETURNED THE ADAPTED on 9/26 and I am waiting for a credit but this company is a scam! I have been calling everyday for a credit since Monday and everyday I get a different answer why I have not received the credit. Checked with Better Business Bureau and this company has a lot of complaints.

I ordered from this company to set up an account I was told I would be able to keep my number, not only was that not true I was going to be given a number that was not in my local calling area so that if my next door neighbor called me it would be long distance for them. Then when I cancelled service for this reason they jipped me almost five bucks stating exchange rate differences. I am so glad they didn't have a number in my calling area. Times must be really tough in the US economy when a US company has to steal money from hard working Canadians! In my opinion they are liars and cheats and I would not recommend them.

This service is really bad. The reliability of the service is really bad and the customer service is worse. Now that I have to cancel it, it seems like another hassle combined with a threat. I would never recommend this service to anyone.

First, was put off by their billing practice. When ordering their service on-line, there is nothing that talks about a $29.00 non-refundable setup fee (even though they say there is a 30 day money back satisfaction guarantee. The other thing they don't mention up-front, is how much taxes will be charged or nor do they mention the additional $1.99 line fee they charge. It is only mentioned in their Terms of Service. I only found out about these fees after I say a $46.00 charge on my credit card and started to investigate. They never even sent an email explaining the charges. I was willing to overlook the charges since $9.99/month still seemed like a good deal. However, I did a side-by-side test with my current provider (phonepower) and its audio quality just wasn?t quite as good. It was acceptable: The other person was clear and very understandable, but not as natural sounding. I decided to pay the slightly higher premiums and stay with my current provider.

Instead of charging $24.99 they charged almost $200 every month on my credit card without any notification or approval from the customer. Be aware from these rippers!

They say the equipment is free then when you are ready to cancel, they tell you that the equipment must be returned. When I called to ask how something free must now be returned, they state that "it is free during the time of use". NOWHERE on the website they state that it is free during the time of use. In other words, they LIE when they state it is free as it must be returned. Also there are all kind of hidden costs charged to my account.

Stay away from these fraudsters. Overcharged. Lied about number availability, never issued credit for illegal charges. Activated account a week before equipment arrived. NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT AT ALL. JUST THROW AWAY $50 FOR NOTHING. Look at every other service before you ever consider this bunch of crooks!

Service is only fair to OK. Customer service is very lacking if comparing to Land Line Companies like Verizon or Comcast. They are closed in the evenings and weekends should you need help at that time. The only help offered is form request over their internet site which does not get you a call back until their next day or two of working. So Customer Service is only Monday-Friday during normal working hours. The other problem is their billing cycle which I have yet to figure out. I paid my bill on the 11th of the month yet I get billed again on the 24th? After talking with a Rep I get told they can only credit me on future bills. With their billing practices you need to get a card that you can keep a low balance on to protect you from their random billing practices.

HORRIBLE customer service. This just did not EVER work. Equipment WAS NOT free, set up charges and equipment was added and charged to my credit card and trying to get through to these people was impossible. Horrible reviews elsewhere. I wish I would have checked before. Bad BBB rating too.

ITP (Internet Telephone Provider is what the company says ITP stands for but Internet Phone Pretender is more accurate as you will see from my comments). Might be the worst buying decision I have ever made, and with regard to Internet services ITP is without doubt at the bottom of the pile. I have replaced them with Phone Power and have found that company to be superb in every way. I was misled by a number of positive ITP reviews on the Internet, and my experience with ITP was so bad on every issue that I have to speculate that ITP paid people to post false praise about their company. I will not go through all of the problems I experienced with ITP (an amazing list if I did). To mention a key initial problem, ITP fraudulently pretends to have a broad inventory of phone numbers that they do not actually have, and the first clue that something is very wrong here is that they will not let you pick a specific number (like Phone Power and so many other competent Internet phone services). In my case, they then assigned a number with a totally different prefix than the one I had chosen, saying that the phone prefix I had picked was not available in their inventory (surprise!) and that their customer service agreement allowed them to assign a number of their choosing. No attempts whatsoever by ITP to notify the customer that their first choice was not available, just an immediate posture of we are allowed to do this and you cannot do anything about it. And of course, at this point you will have already paid them about $50, and it should come as no surprise that they will not issue a refund even when they have done everything wrong. ITP is apparently based in Brooklyn and I would say they are trying to use the Tony Soprano style of customer service, and anyone choosing ITP will probably regret their decision either sooner or later.
