I have had LINGO for about 2 years, some very early echo problems but they have all gone away. This is the only service if you make a lot of international calls worth having. I pay 19.99 per month and they have never raised my fee from the day I started This includes US/Canada, Most of Middle East, Far East and Europe all for 19.99 - we spend hrs every day to UK and to Israel and have never had 1cent added to the 19.99 Quality is very good (better than cell phone) Questions posed to service ctr get answered in detail within 24hrs, I have not ever needed to phone anyone so can not comment on in person support. They have great features like simultaneous ring to any phone in the world (inc cells) I would like to see voicemail via email support something other than wmv format but thats about all My phone line dies on average 1 time per month, resetting the VoIP box fixes it - this always happens overnight and normally it can be traced back to Comcast doing work on the cable line.

I've had Lingo for about 4 yrs now and I am happy (not ecstatic) with the service. I've tried to find out what happened to my $21.99 monthly service which now varies month to month from $31 and change to $32 dollars and change . I like the features and the cost over land lines. I've just become aware of the two year contract with them that I would NEVER agree to if that was the case a few years ago . Now Customer service ! that's another issue I've never used it . but after convincing my sister to get Lingo ... WoW,,, what a nightmare. They try but their English is terrible and they can be extremely frustrating ,short and RUDE. It actually caused my sister to cancel and go with Vonage. at least they all spoke English. I talk about 4 to 7 hrs a month to the UK and Italy. so the plan works for me. I occasionally send a fax or two a month and have not had any major problems. I'm afraid to drop them because of the Horror stories I've heard from others sites and reviews. So for me it works and its cheaper than a land line (as long as I can still have decent phone quality and service ) So CAVEAT EMPTOR- buy beware .... make your choice and if you don't like it switch right away.. and make sure your not obligated to a two year contract

After being a Lingo customer for 4 years I decided to switch to another VoIP service due to a decline in quality and constant rate increases. Everything was fine until a couple years ago when they started adding questionable fees that eventually reached 50% of my base plan cost. Now that I've tried to transfer the number and cancel my service, I am convinced they are using very unethical business practices. They will not let you remove your credit card information and will delay your phone transfer in order to bill you for as long as possible. My first request for number transfer was mysteriously denied, allowing them to charge me for another month of service. When my was finally transferred the following month, Lingo denied the practice of stopping my plan after number release (after I was told by my new provider that they are suppose to do this) and will keep billing you. They are taking advantage of the customer's belief they would be compliant with the practice of disconnection after transfer. How can they get away with charging me for a phone# that I use through a different provider? The scary thing is I had to call my bank and cancel my debit card because I couldn't remove my CC information. You shouldn't have to do this with a legitimate utility or online service. They are ripe for a major review by consumer advocates or a federal anti-trust investigation. Very shady business practices. I suspect they are cutting major corners and struggling to survive at the expense of consumers. It wasn't like that when I signed up 4 years ago.

Guys ... stay away from Lingo. I ordered lingo for cheaper international calling in the beginning. After 1 month of usage, I regret cancelling Vonage and ordering lingo. The calls rates are cheaper at the cost of voice quality. One of the worst quality I have ever seen. When I cancelled the service after wasting lot of my time with customer/technical support to resolve quality issues, they charged with me $99.95 as a disconnect fees. Believe me guys, when I ordered lingo, the disconnect fees was $39.95 only. I never got notified of increased fees. It is illegal to change the disconnect fees without notifying the customers. I am going to dispute the charges and ready to pay $1000 to lawyer but will never pay $100 to lingo. Guys, never buy Lingo service. Its a unprofessional company and will rip you off by offering cheaper services. Its really not a service worth having agreement for 2 yrs. Any one who is signing with them will be tied up for two years same like mobile phones. Lingo is not a good enough to upgrade 24 months contract. any one who is with lingo please cancel or you will be tied up with this crocodile. Don't sign with this company. this is my humble request.

Lingo Customer service is terrible. They screwed up my re-order on my lingo replacement router and I didn't receive it for 2 weeks. They called it a "technical difficulty". Lingo service is OK, but if you ever need to talk to their customer service department, you're going to be in a world of hurt. None of their customer service people know what they are talking about and I had to talk to 4 techs before I finally convinced them my modem went bad. Stay away from Lingo.

This is THE MOST HORRIFIC service out there!!! God forbid you should ever need assistance. Good luck. No one speaks a lick of English and if you do get someone that you can communicate with you may never even get a solution. I called for months b/c my modem was bad. 80% of the time trying to make a telephone call I would not have a dial tone or there would be a horrific clicking sound (it was described to me like a movie reel). I would have to power down the modem. Rarely we would be notified of voice mails. When I would call to get assistance they would just tell me to power down the modem!!! Seriously??? I shouldn't have to do that multiple times a day!!! When I finally got so fed up with them and canceled they still continued to bill me. Heaven forbid I should actually speak with someone to get my money back. According to them... they have every right to continue to charge me b/c I never called to cancel. SERIOUSLY????? I did flippin' call!!! They just never answered!!! I tried calling back several times only to be put on hold and then disconnected!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

This service sucks. They raise money without notice. I was offered 2 months free service for reactivating a cancelled line. But I got bill next week

The service is OK if you have a fast connection. Despite what it says on the website, You can not get by with and 30K or 60K connection. I was using it with a 1.5M/384K DSL line, and it was a poor quality phone service. The tech support told me I had to upgrade to at least a 512K upload speed to be supported. I asked if that was on the web site as a requirement, and he said no. Also, every time you contact customer support, they send you a survey in the email. I gave a low mark to a rep because he could not answer my question. It may have been a language issue. Anyway, he kept calling me on my contact number asking why, and asking me to fill out the survey again with better marks. You can tell it's them because the number has no caller id or number.

Ditto as all the previous complaints. With 4 days to spare, they send an email saying that the service terms have changed - 2 year commitment, $99.99 for early cancellation! Absolutely the worst bunch of morons sitting in some customer service center in India. This company should be blacklisted and reported to every possible authority.
