Lingo customer service people take the prize for knowing how to make a customer mad. I called their helpline to get my issue resolved. Spoke to the staff who did not appear knowledgeable, but promised a callback. I waited for few days and did not hear from them. Called the helpline again and wanted to speak to a supervisor. The representative did not get the supervisor but continued to talk. HEY, LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER FOR A CHANGE!!!!! I was on the phone for quite sometime and the representative kept arguing with me .... I don't know where Lingo found such poor staff for their customer service department. I checked with others who used or continue to use Lingo that one needs to call their senior management and issues get resolved then. I sincerely hope Lingo get more knowledgeable people on the phones, who can help customers. I need a service that works and people who can help in the hour of need. I am not paying for poor service! If this isn't fixed, i will take this to the BBB and FCC.

Lingo only believes in chaeting their customers. They change the contract terms anytime they want, have terible service yet want to charge a exorbitant termintion fee of 100 dollars. They are out of their minds. They have their customer service located in a far away land where people do not understand a thing and can nither be understood. They just go in circles to give answer to simple questions. It has been nightmarish to have worked with their customer service over the last couple of months. Firtsly it takes ages to connect to a person and when finally you do get to hear a human voice u do not understand what they are talking about as they do not have any clue themselves what they are saying. To add to this i am sent an email every now and then for referring friends and with the offer of giving $50 per person. I referred a friend of mine six months back and yet haven't received anything except three reference numbers. This time I was asked to send a copy of the confirmation mail I received from Lingo after the referral. Now it has been six months and normally I don't keep my mail that long in my mailbox. How am I suppose to give Lingo the copy of the confirmation. The only lesson I learned from this experience is to not refer anybody in the future because it seems to me that this is just a business gimmick. They definitely don't honor their promise.

I moved to Lingo when Sunrocket wound up and was really happy with their service for over 18 months. Lately their customer service seems to have become pathetic. Representatives just cannot speak clear English nor do they know anything about the Lingo service. It has been very difficult to get someone in their Customer service department to help me. I checked with my friends and family members who too switched to Lingo. They too have had very poor experience. Lingo seems to be loosing its flair for providing good service. Can anyone help me with the number for their senior management? I have been a loyal customer and want their leadership to fix this issue. Hope this is a blurr and not something that will plague the service.

I am fed up with pathetic customer service that Lingo is providing. I have called numerous times in the last 2 months to get help with an issue that has been bother the service. I get to speak to agents who are sweet talkers but have no clue how to help me. I am fed up with the service and would NEVER recommend this to anyone. Till a few months ago, I was a really happy customer who stood by this company and referred it to my family, friends and colleagues. When i tried to cancel they asked me for a cancellation fee. Are they out of their minds!!!... they want me to pay them when i have not been able to use their service for more than 2 months and have already been charged for both months. I will take these bunch of crooks to BBB and fight this to the HILT.

We have had Lingo for almost five years, and are totally satisfied - esp. for calls to Europe. Now my in-law has Lingo, and one of our neighbors, and they like it, too. If you know how a Computer works and what a modem is, set-up should not be a problem. If it doesn't work, just call Lingo.

Total fraud of a company! 1. Your "30 day" money back guarantee starts on the day you place your order online. It takes 2 weeks to actually get your hardware to use the service. So its a 14 day guarantee. 2. They bill you BEFORE shipping out the adapter. You are paying for a service you have yet to receive. And if you want your money back YOU have to call UPS and YOU have to pay to send it back. WTF? 3. They don't tell you about all of the taxes they charge. Here are some tidbits: 1. Their call center is in Manila, but everything has to be authorized by the East Coast 2. Their cancellation center is in Iowa City and has less than a dozen people. So know who are dealing with and note their CSID (they all have them). Their names are fake, so log your date/time you called.

I cancelled my account in October 2008 and I have confirmation email stating that I do not have to pay cancellation fee and do not return phone adapter. Still, Lingo forwarded my account to collection agency in May 2009 and they are going to put negative feedback on my credit history for $99.95 (ninety-nine dollars and ninety-five cents). Lingo is very bad. Do not use this service. They do not honor their own email communication of cancellation of service.

I have been on Lingo for 4 months and it has been a terrible experience. My list of issues? Lots of hidden fees on the service, not even Verizon had this many fees (too bad they ended VoiceWing). Customer Service is terrible. Yes you can reach them quickly but they are useless, full of misinformation, hard to understand and only have ideas that blame you for their problems. Call quality has been unreliable making getting problems resolved impossible. There is a big cancellation fee after 30 days which I knew about but I did not realize how long it was going to take to sign up for the service and to get number transferred over making effectively no trial. This is my 3rd VOIP company as SunRocket and VoiceWing went away both of them were many time better with none of the issues I have listed above. I take the time to write this hoping I will stop someone else from the wasted time and frustration. STAY AWAY!

Horrible Customer service, never hear back or get any reply back from them. Everytime you have call them and spend hours to explain the problem. I would not recommend anybody to have LINGO.

I ordered Lingo after SunRocket up and vanished. Because I was a SunRocket customer Lingo gave me 3 months free service to sign up which was great. The equipment arrived really quick and setup was plug and play. We chose Lingo b/c of their international plans. My wife is originally from Germany, so she makes a lot of calls back home. Other providers like Packet 8 have similar plans, but they charged a lot more and Vonage doesn't include Germany in their so-called "Unlimited Europe" calling. Sound quality is relatively good, occasionally I'll get an echo. The only real complaint I would have is the billing. Originally bills were as advertised $21.95 + a fee or two, adding up to $26.38. That lasted for 7 months, then it went to $27.59 and 4 months later it went to $31.15. For some reason fees and taxes are almost $10 more then the advertised cost. Granted I haven't bothered to look into this, but it's something to keep in mind if you're expecting to actually pay the $21.95. Still, the value of the service far outweighs the cost. International rates are so high with other providers, I'd be paying 5 times what I pay now. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone, especially if you make international calls.
