I have been recommending Lingo to my friends ever since I took the connection. THESE Lingo People are Liars .They attract their customers saying that they do not have contracts and they wont charge any money on cancellation ALL RUBBISH do not believe them, as they charged $99 while cancellation , and customer support people are very much rude. they charge very high compared to any other VoIP company in the market, there are better VoIP providers in the market. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE LINGO CONNECTION

i thought what a deal- $200 for a year of phone service with every feature and unlimited calling. then when it came time to actually make a call, there was time delay, over distorted sound, dropouts... and that's when it worked. 5% of the time it would work flawlessly, 90% bad sound and 5% would just not work. i would get a dial tone and dial then nothing. tech support would tell me do this and that with a thick accent and half my conversation was me saying "what?". it got to the point i set it up so all incoming calls forwarded to my cell. now it is the end of my year and i called to say do not renew my subscription and now they want to charge me $99 cancellation fee. you know, i thought the phone company was bad.

The lied to me about being able to use my current phone number on the day of installation is when I found out. So I emidiatly cancelled, called for rma's to return the two modems the jerks not only refused to cancell my subscrition but never returned my money for the modems. also the continued to insist on collection for a service I did not use and no amount of emails and phone calls would stop the charges DON'T DEAL WITH THEM THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!!

Have had Lingo since Sunrocket went out of business. Lingo service started OK but has gone downhill since. Repeated problems with interruptions in phone service, poor phone quality, not able to call 800 numbers. Currently looking for a new provider as Lingo sold me a virtual phone number in Spain which for the past 2 weeks has not worked at all. Their customer service is awful-- for my virtual phone line problem, I was promised a repair "within 24 hours", and despite repeated complaints, is still not working-- with the service representatives reading responses right out of a book. I wouldn't recommend them. Their prices are cheap for a reason.

Yes, Lingo Charges 21.95 +10bucks tax per month.. Great Great Service.. Customer for 4 1/2 years... No problems until they started lying to me and ripping me off on special promos for signing up people.. I WILL NOT DEAL WITH ANY COMPANY THAT 1-LIES TO ME, 2-RIPS ME OFF......Major problems on setting it up, went threw 4 boxes before one worked.. Also had to buy a router and at that time Lingo believed router wasn't' needed. Spent 16hrs plus with phone support.. Being IT myself, this really upset me.... Friends canceled lingo, still trying to charge them to this day.. I am canceling tomorrow, after credit card is set up first so it cant be charged anymore....1. don't lie to me, 2. don't rip me off.

We make lots of calls to New Zealand, which are included in the base rate. Call quality has always been good. The taxes, etc. that get added do seem high compared to other services that we have had. My only big complaint is that they do not answer emails. I have tried to ask numerous questions, but have never received an answer via email. The only way I have ever gotten an answer is to call.

I do not recommend Lingo. I signed up for a 1 year pay in advance plan. What I found out was they charge you monthly for the taxes about $10 (a lot more than expected). Also customer support is in India. They have not been able to get the ring pattern working correctly on my phone. I only get a triple ring. Customer service can't seem to get it fixed. They have increased their disconnect fee to about $100. Also a friend referred me to them (he doesn't use his phone much) and they refused to honor the referral bonus. Bottom line - Do not use this VOIP provider!

All Please Please STAY AWAY from lingo. PERIOD !!. I did order a new service few months back. and from day one i started getting marketing calls from bank etc. and cancelled it within a week. but i ended up paying for the return shipping. and they charged for original (lingo->myhome) shipping cost - $12 upon cancellation (it came through US post regular shipping i am pretty sure that it wont cost that much). when i registered, their website clearly mentioned about a 1 yr agreement. But, after one week, they changed it to 2 yr !! lingo sucks. also a bunch of idiots sitting at customer service center - they will just irritate you. So these tactics gave me some hint about lingos ridiculous business model. 1. The guys sitting at top of the company (owner) are Indians with a previous experience in running a wholesale potato dealership in India. 2. they dont care about customers or negative reviews from customers. 3. even if a customer cancel the service, they are making money - as shipping charge, selling the tel number to third party etc. 4. to summarize: they are running a cancellation business by irritating customers and making money out of it. ---me.

We've had this service for about a year now. It is an ok service. we signed for the chatter box for 21.99 unlimited calling to W. Europe and cheaper international rates. service and voice quality are good with 5.7 mb/s from AT&T new Uverse service (the new fiber optic). There were NO problems with the setup. Lingo doesn't always work with 800 numbers especially when we tried to use calling cards. Taxes are $ 6.25 added to the 21.99 to a total of 28.24. Oh it works with my Canon 5750 Fax machine most of the time. Customer service is not the best (expect to your call to be routed some where in Asia) mostly with a bad voice quality, but we needed them twice or three times and they got the job done. Over all we like.

I couldn't make out of state calls, which was the only reason I got the service to begin with. I made 10+ calls to Tech support and they never got my service working. Due to the fact that Lingo never supplied me with the service that I was paying for I have decided to cancel my service. THAT'S WHEN THE FUN BEGAN !! I have been trying to cancel my Lingo service since Nov 11, 08 . it is now Jan 12 and I have yet to reach anyone in the Cancelation Dept. Further more, all of my emails to their customer service dept is bouncing back as "undeliverable". I've tried to reach other depts and they always tell me that someone will call me back and that my issue has be escalated to the highest level. Which is a BIG LIE! I have asked my credit card company to NOT allow anymore charges from Lingo and I have sent them a certified letter. Hopefully it will reach someone...... STAY AWAY FROM LINGO.
