I just registered my Magic Jack, I could not keep my old phone number like I was told I could when I purchased. I contacted customer service, NO HELP, and could not understand the person I spoke with. So I picked a number from a town I live 4 hours from (only place available). Then I looked at my plan in my account that I just set up....... when I purchased the MagicJack over the phone I also purchased the 5 year plan for $107.53. They charged me $48 for the device and the $107.53 for the 5 year plan the day I ordered (which they said they would not until the 30 day FREE trial was over). I thought that was strange but paid no mind.......UNTIL TODAY! My account did not show the 5 year plan, so I called back again, after a 30 minute waiting period I talked with someone. They had no record of taking my money and would not acknowledge the card or my MagicJack that THEY sent me, even though I was looking at my account at the very transaction from them! The conversation escalated and they would not refund my money due to them not even attempting to help me, and then they hung up on me! FRAUD! I contacted my bank and they are refunding me and recommended I contact the BBB. How can they do this to people?

There customer service is terrible. Hard to contact anyone and they do not want to help unless you pay a fee.

Purchase and installation were a snap. My subscription ran out so I logged on-line and renewed for 5 years and paid $100.00. My phone stopped receiving calls. I looked everywhere for self service to fix the problem and found nothing. Tried calling, NO ANSWER or I got a recording that told me to call the number I just called then hung up. Tried on line chat and it timed out waiting for a representative. I will be doing a charge-back when my renewal hits my credit card.

I have used MagicJack for 3 years with no problems, very clear and does not drop out. I recommend to all. Cant beat the price either.

I have been a user since 2008 and have had nothing but good service. This is a great value. For less than 2 dollars a month for a full featured service, it cant be beat. This is installed at the main feed of my house and connected to every telephone jack. On the two occasions that my service went down, it was due to lightning strikes. Magicjack support sent me new units at the cost of shipping only. Con's: does not support pulse dialing. Customer support is poor. Annual charge, not one time charge for porting your number.

Works OK for casual family calls. They advertise it will carry fax, but it does not work most of the time. The very low cost makes the quality acceptable for casual use. If you have problems the customer service is very poor - guess you get what you pay for.

Sometimes calls drop or disconnect and the quality is bad sometimes. I like all the options I can do with the web connection. Over all for the price it cannot be beat.

Magicjack was truly excellent for the first year of service. We renewed for another year and all went well for 3 months. Problems occurred and customer service asked us to go through extremely complex operations to try to restore service several times. Working diligently through their instructions, we were not able to restore service. After several calls to them, they blocked us from contacting them again. We will never recommend anyone to use Magicjack.

Having used Magicjack for several years, the system has proven better each year. Now I dare say the list of services competes well with most others while the cost to consumer can simply not be beat.

We have family outside the USA. With the initial low purchase and service cost plus the 5 year very low service cost, it's cheaper than calling them via a VoIP provider. For $20 a year for all you can yack for 5 people... it's great! Even with a few more glitches than our two previous VOIP providers. Of course the more and longer phone calls, the more glitches. The increase in glitches was lower than the increase in the number and length of calls.
