Great phone service and applications for my office. Me and my employees that use the phones like what we have with Nextiva. Sticking around and using Comcast for my office phone service made no sense to me after they decided to raise my prices once I was a customer for 3 years. I decided to switch phone service providers and my bill is almost half the price of what it was before Comcast raised my rates and I actually deal with a company that isn't as messed up. Nextiva has been spectacular.

Most importantly, a good Internet connection is needed. Without Internet that has good upload speeds, VOIP is not a good choice. If your Internet speed is good, Nextiva is the only way to go.

Support is highly variable. Took 3 hrs just to set up a basic outgoing message. It was like the IRS, you can get different answers depending on who you speak to. Once everything was set up then its fine.

I first used VOIP in 2006 with a company called Sunrocket. It was a service I used at my house and was outstanding. Outstanding until they went out of business one morning and left me without a working home phone. Since then I've used Century Link for home and office internet and phone service. Last month I decided to cut Century Link entirely at home and now my wife and kids use our cell phones. At my office we switched to Cox for Internet and Nextiva for phones. Cox was a simple choice since it was the only other local option for internet. Phone service wasn't as easy to select since I wanted more than just phones and voicemail for $60 per line. This led me to conducting research and I talked to nearly every phone company imaginable. I spent a good two weeks reviewing documents, comparing prices, finding the best phone equipment and in the end chose Nextiva for the phone service. I haven't used Nextiva for a long enough time to really judge it but my experience so far has been impressive and good for business.

It's a simple service and has worked wonders for me. I personally really like Nextiva, but can see that their service is not for all businesses. First, you need to decide if a PBX phone system is right for your business. Smaller organizations can operate off of more basic solutions like Google Voice or Vonage, in some cases Skype is a good fit. If your company needs more than just basic calling/forwarding/voicemail features, take a serious look at PBX based solutions. Now, PBX systems have two ways to go....On-premise or hosted. On-premise systems such as Avaya, Switchvox, and Nortel are great fits for larger organizations (100+). However you must have someone at your office that's a phone system expert, don't try running an on-premise solution alone. If your onsite phone system isn't configured properly, get ready for problems. My personal recommendation for companies in need of a PBX is to go with something cloud based. Everything is managed by the service provider, rather than you. I've used Nextiva for only a few months but can say that it's been a great solution. Also consider companies like Vocalocity, OnSIP and Ringcentral as they all do similar things. What stands out with Nextiva are the features and customer service. I would rate their customer service 10 out of 5, it's that good. As someone with a robust technical background, I can say that the on boarding and overall value of Nextiva is awesome. If you decide to go with an on-premise phone system, make sure you go with a VOIP based PBX. Analog is old and a pain.

I have used Nextiva since 2008 but no more. Essentially their customer service representatives try hard but are not able to bind the company to anything. I have had several billing issues, the latest was I new my phone needed to be renewed but they did not send me a renewal notice, so I called them and told them I think I needed to pay ? well they disagreed with me and told me I had another 10 months of service left! I told them it had to be a mistake but they assured me I did not have to pay until Sept of 2013. 2 days later they shut off my phone service with no warning. Prior to that we had a billing dispute on a second line where they kept charging me for a second line I did not have. When they finally acknowledged the error the indicated they could only refund me the current month, not the past several months I had been billed for. In the end, you cannot trust this company to do or charge you what they say they will. The are more expensive than most companies and the actual call clarity and reliability is only so-so. I am trying my luck elsewhere.

Nextiva works very well for me. I have phones setup across 6 locations in the southeast for over a year. Everyone in our company know connects via extension rather than dialing the full number and it's made setting up call groups very easy. One main downside, there's no Internet service offered by Nextiva. Each of our offices runs on it's own ISP account.
