I've been using VOIP for 4 years and what most people don't realize with VOIP is that your internet connection is what makes or breaks your VOIP experience not your VOIP provider. If you experience Jitter/Packet loss, then your VOIP provider will blame your Internet provider and vice versa. Furthermore, your VOIP experience may be great today, but tomorrow a slow internet server thousands of miles from your home could ruin everything, so never sign up for long term plans. My experience runs from 100% quality VOIP service to where I cannot make a call that lasts more than 30 seconds without it being dropped due to jitter and packet loss. VOIP is not a panacea. If there are problems YOU WILL become your own telephone technician. You'll spend hours researching VOIP technical jargon and hours spent on support calls to your VOIP / Internet providers to research problems. If you want problem free telephone I suggest a cell phone family plan.

Brought over my number for no extra cost. The box came in the mail pretty quick and it was easy enough to get up and running. Cheap plans. Works. Hard to go wrong.

Finally I'm away from Vonage and with a company that doesn't rob me for phone service! Phone Power is way cheaper and has better features than I had with Vonage. There are some free international minutes each month, good rates after that. The hardware came quickly and is under warranty with them for the entire time I have the service. I don't regret switching at all.

I have had Phonepower service for two lines for 3 to 4 years. 99% of the time it is fine. and I would recommend them. I have had 2 other VOIP services and they were not as good so I have a fair basis for comparison. Voice quality is fine, very few dropped calls etc.... Here is what I found to be problematic: I had a 2 week go around with service last year before diagnosing and correcting a bad "magic box" Initially I had Phonepower on DSL without problems. I switched to a cable provider and had no end of dropped calls etc. Phone power diagnosed it and sent me an email to provide the cable company (which also has their own Telephone package) and they (supervisor) had no idea as to what i was talking about.... so I went back to DSL and it was fine again. If we get small outages of power.... common in my area, the router and magic box usually must be reset. The answer is to put these devices on a small UPS box. I have had little in the way of problems with call forwarding to my cell phone, and cannot comment on voice mail, as I do not use this feature. Overall they have been good, and I do recommend them. PhonePower is my first VoIP provider, and after 4 years with them I see no reason to look any further for my home/office and online business. Even if they didn't offer the most service for the least money - which, in fact, they do! - I would stick with them for their knowledgeable (and ultra-patient) 24/7 live tech support and world-class customer service alone - a real rarity on today's commercial scene! Their network has always been rock-solid reliable, voice quality is equal to or better than my old Verizon land-line, and the wide range of service features and options they offer seems to expand every few months. When my modem starting acting up after 4 years of use, they promptly replaced it entirely free of charge. I couldn't ask for anything more in a VoIP service provider. Highly recommended.

Good service. Love the anonymous call block option since anyone calling from a blocked number I don?t want to talk to. Locked in a good price for two years and I?m set.

Its a great service to get if you don't want to pay as much for a landline just make sure that you have a solid internet connection. Theres a feature included that will send calls to your cell if it detects your internet is down though. Had it for two years and love it. It works well and I prepaid when I ordered so I hadn't thought about it much til they sent me an email reminding me that the end of my two years was coming up. Customer service speaks english and helped me pick another prepaid plan so I'm good for another year.

Vonage kept hiking up our rates so we switched to Phone Power and haven't looked back. Way cheaper, and better features. We got to keep our number too.

After 4 years as a Phone Power VoIP customer I had to let them go. Over the last two weeks the service went down for a day and a half and then several days we had terrible audio quality. I could never get a straight answer out of tech support as to what was going on or when it would be fixed. Today a tech tried to convince me that 2 tenths of 1 percent packet loss in one of three system tests I did on my Fios system (while the other two were 100% accurate) was the problem with their audio quality. These people will not admit when they have a problem and lie to you via online chat. Terrible phone service from them yet I can skype call audio and video perfectly clear and have no other internet issues whatsoever with 30 meg up and 27 meg down. Who are these folks kidding. I can't hang my business communications on a company that won't tell me the truth.
