We were cutting household costs so we switched to a voip line to save. Phone Power looked like it was one of the cheapest that looked like a real company so we went with them. Was worried that we might see a difference in quality, but it works pretty much exactly the same as our landline did. Couple more features that we didn't have before too like options for more phones around the house.

2.5 years with Phone Power, with only one provisioning issue, CS is great and this was resolved in minutes. Calls go thru quickly and are clear. Very pleased with this service (have had 3 others prior).

Vowing to never give Verizon another dime after getting ripped off for years and years and getting bad service on top, I went to Phone Power. Big mistake. While the features are great, if the phone system cannot handle the simple task of letting a call come in without making the phone die and send calls instead to voice mail, then it makes no difference how good the other features are. If you just want to make calls out, then it is pretty good, but about 50% of all incoming calls will not go through. The blamed my router, so i bought a new one, then they said it was my phone and that there system is not compatible with Panasonic phones, then they said it was a setting on the phone, the they said i needed to change my DSL provider (I did) and that didn't work, then they ran out of excuses. Getting somebody on the phone (my cell phone most of the time) to deal with the issue was practically impossible. They say they have to call back and will do so in an hour. Often they called back a few days or weeks later. Don't even think of using them. I'm still stuck with them and never have anybody try to call in on their line. Only use if for out going calls. Will be dumping them soon.

Got it for my elderly parents as a low usage line mostly for in case of an emergency so it was important just in case that they didn't stick us with huge charges for 911 calls (some companies do believe it or not), but it is free, it shows the address if they do have to call and can't speak, and they had good reviews. I got the $5/mo promo plan, which in an incredibly good deal for service so now that I know it works I'll most likely be switching my own line too

I live in Canada and was somewhat hesitant to go with a US company a couple months ago, but had heard good things, and they have money back guarantee so I tried. The sales agent kindly took my order over the phone and I got the phone box within a week. Its simple to set up. If I can do it, no one else should have problems. Its working great and beats the price of more local competitors. Calls are free to Canada and the US. There are some free international minutes to other countries, but I don't use them. Free second line is great too. It just uses your same number but more people can be on the phone at the same time.

I like this service. Friendly and knowledgeable folks. I did grade them only a "good" for Set-Up since I had expected it to work out of the box. But a quick call to their Support people (on a Sunday no less!) and they helped me get it working. probably 25 minutes from opening the box to placing a call. Not sure if this is normal or too long for this type of technology. But I would recommend this service.

I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Many local agencies & companies have 1-800 numbers that are geolocation- locked; you can?t call those numbers from outside Canada, or outside Quebec (depending). How they detect the origin of the call is not based on the caller ID (the caller?s phone number); it has to do with how the call is routed, i.e. where it?s coming from for real. Now, the problem is not that Phone Power isn?t technically capable of routing those calls correctly, since I have been able to call those numbers on multiple occasions. The problem is that they are unable to keep routing consistent. The result is that those calls will only work sometimes, and will sometimes fail. And, when it?s not working, and you call/chat support to fix it, they don?t know how to resolve the situation. Sometimes, after 20-30 minutes of back and forth, they are able to make those calls go through. Other times, they can?t fix it, and answer that they?ll investigate further, and contact me later when they found something.

The product on the surface looks great!! As long as you dont have any problems,, If you do, the customer service 'professionals' are terrible. Phone Power is great at collecting their money, but if things go wrong, you are on your own.. I cancelled after experiencing their apathy.

I've had the service for almost a year now and it has always worked as expected. I switched from Magic Jack because even though it was cheap, it wasn't worth the hassle when it didn't work. Phone Power is still well within the affordable range and actually works. I decided to write a review after I called in for the first time recently to tweak my caller ID and they were really helpful. AND speak English. Definitely a good provider.
