This VoIP is not without its problems. The problems are so intermittent you can never get them to resolve the issues. They require a call log of phone numbers dialed, phone numbers recieved, dates, and times that the problems occur, so that it inconveniences you the point of frustration. Then they hold the $99 termination fee over your head. I finally said you can have my $99 because it was well worth getting this phone service out of my house. Anybody that holds a $99 termination fee over your head should be avoided and eliminated from the competition in my opinion.

This companies service is average. I have been with them a year and have a few issues with their billing and network. Certain cell companies have issues calling me, recorded message says the number is disconnected. Talked to PP support and was told to contact the cell companies. They would not even try to correct the issue by submitting a trouble ticket to the local telco. All I asked was for them to just try since they have the contacts and I don't. Also their billing dept stated a set price for the second year and upped it after I had already paid for the first year and was to get the second free. Their one way contract will take your monies but when they breach the contract they will not refund.

I love the features and price PhonePower offers; however, the features were so unreliable, I finally gave up and switched to another VoIP. The customer and tech support was responsive and helpful, but enough was enough. Vonage does not have the same great features, but so far, it has been far and above more reliable.

Watch out! Their 2-year contract continues at a much higher monthly rate unless you notify them in writing that you want to quit. I ported my phone number over to VOIPo 2 weeks before the end of the contract, assuming that constituted "notification". The next month I found a charge against my credit card. When I questioned it, they said porting the number wasn't "written notification" and refused to reverse the charge. Not only did I not use their service during that month, I couldn't have even if I'd wanted to since my number had been ported 2 weeks earlier!

I have a 1 year plan that expires next month. You can get no informtion on the "new" rates until it is 1 month before your expiration even if you contact customer service. There are online offers that do NOT state they are for new customers only. In order to get them you have to get a new phone number (didn't complete but appears it would go through) or contact Phonepower and hope to get the plan. Fortunately I had contacted them in NOV 2011 and advised of the cheaper plans. They said I would get the BEST PLAN they had available when my renewal time came up. I DID NOT. Not even the current lower cost plan on their website. Contacted them and they authorized a 1 time approval of the offered online plan but I would not get any offer again. Their monthly rates are way too high. I am good for 2 years and then will seak out another provider. This is a good provider they reply to emails fast but the quality of the phone service (not customer service) can be hit and miss. Second clone line is useless so don't depend on it. Phone calls drop off a lot and can be scratchy. I deal with the glitches because the plan is a good price and I am not phone dependant. 2 year comes out to about $10.60 a month including second year taxes that I will pay next year seperately. The taxes and fees are almost as much as the service but for all of the options offered it is a good price. I recommend the service for someone who wants/needs a land line for low usage and emergency.

I had Vonage for a year but they are more expensive and charge to much TAX and fees on top of their advertised plans. I now have Phone Power for 23 months and the service went out 2 times on their side, but resolved within a couple of hours. Other than that PP is excellent and equal to or better than Vonage. You can't beat PP. I recommend this voip to those on a tight budget. My total bill is $19.01 a month for 5000 min a month, thats over 80 hours a month.

1. It is really not 8.33/mon You have to add $199+120 as they charge you $60 / year in addition to $199. 2. The connection is not reliable. Sometimes you will not hear the other side, the other times they will not hear you. You will call help or service technician and will have to wait for days to get the answer and solution is always Reboot the BOX. So I have been re-booting every day. 3. The first year was better but now it is horrible connection. 4. They may be the cheapest but if you want Solid phone connection do not use them. I will just suffer till my 2nd year is over as I can not get any refund from them.

Just started 2nd year. Second line is fine. Only one number rings empty line. Also hardware automatically gives preference to phone over internet. (Magic Jack plus does not.) Service down once for 10 minutes, auto transfer to cell phone. Good call logs and contact list, speed dails, etc. Fax in or out works well (rare with VOIP).

We love the service. There have been no problems and its more than affordable. The free softphone is cool. Plenty of other features that our other phone companies didn't offer either. I'd tell anyone they should get it.
