I've used Phone Power for several months now to call internationally. At best, the call quality is about the same as calling card companies idPhoneCard, Enjoy Prepaid and others I've used over the years. I expected better quality calls with Phone Power because of the dedicated equipment to ensure you have best shot at a solid connection. Service levels have dropped lately, now most of the time I cannot get a connection (though I am still paying per minute for the dead silence). I've made do with Skype through my cell phone, it costs quite a bit more but I can connect. I've had Comcast replace the line from the street to the house and inside as well, to no avail. Positive for Phone Power is their support -- real people all the time. Knowledgeable and effective.

After an hour and a half on the phone, Phone Power tech support gave up trying to get their phone service working on my PC (Windows XP with AT&T DSL Internet service). I guess that's understandable as I have an older modem and router that they could not set up. My problem is that they will not refund any money even though they could not get it to work at all. Luckily I signed up for only a month. However I think this to really a bad practice to not refund, since it could happen to anyone.

I purchased my own SPA2102 Adapter, It was up and running in 1 day(Yesterday), with very poor sound quality. I called to speak with Tech Support and noticed that on my account page, the click2call link wasn?t working, I was placed on hold and then told me they will work on it and send me an email when it is working. I then noticed that my Fax-enabled VM link wasn?t working, he put me on hold and in a few mins came back and said they will work on it and send me an email when it is working. I then noticed my dialing options would not open, again they will work on it and send me an email when it is working. At this time he told me ?Thank You for calling, if I have any other problems, please call back?. I laughed and said ? why would I hang up and call back when I have you on the phone now?? I could tell he wasn?t happy. (The reason for this I am guessing is that I have him on the phone longer then the allotted time the company has placed on support calls. Normally it is 8 mins.) (I have been a Sr. IT Executive for 12 Years) After another 30 seconds I let him go, just because he tried to push me off the phone and NOT take care of my service issues. This, the second day, the voice quality has change to good, I guess it takes them some time to tweek the data streams. Now for the problems. I was told by PhonePower 1st level support, that they will only lock the SIP page on my adapter, (This was told to me the day before I purchased when I was shopping for a provider) well they lock the Admin account NOT just one area of your configuration ability. When I called to ask why I was not properly informed of this, the response was ?I don?t know! Why do you need to get in there anyway?? I informed him it was my adapter, connected to my network, and it was non of his!@#$$ business of why I need to get in there. At this point I got a good feeling of how PowerPhone felt and dealt with their customers. About 2 hours later when testing the phone services, I noticed my name was on the caller ID was spelt incorrectly. So again I called tech support? there the Tech told me it wasn?t a problem, he could do it, but I just needed to speak with the sales department so they can make the change in their system, then he can change it in a few mins. So I was transferred to sales. I informed the sales woman of their mistake on my name and she told me I needed to send the department an email with my account information, the reason for the change, what it currently is and what it needs to be. I told her ?YOU? made the mistake, YOU fix it. She informed me, she can?t because she needs written authorization to make a change to my account. Now within the realm of Change Management, I understand that, BUT.. They didn?t need my written authorization to charge my CC for the $23.00. I told her I spoke with Tech support, and he said it only takes a Minute to make this change. She told me ?It?s impossible for it to be done today, because the guy who does that is not in today?!! I?M NOT MAKING THIS STUFF UP FOLKS!! I told her that was one of the most ridicules excuse?s and one of the largest lack of customer service I have seen in quite a while, and with that thought, I am canceling my account. She told me to go on their web site and fill out the form. LOL, funny! About an hour later I receive a call form Level 2 support. He fixed all my problems from yesterday. I told him about my Caller ID issue and the POOR CS and ignorance she showed about how her business and their IT department operates, he told me it was no problem to change it for me. He asked me what it should be, and DONE!! It shouldn?t have to be this hard folks, just remember, you get what you pay for!!

Call quality is great, set-up was easy. My fax machine works well with Phone Power. My alarm system also works well. However I am not sure if I am willing to use VOIP for the alarm system as I don't have a good battery backup for the VOIP adapter and AT&T U-Verse Gateway/Router. Phone Power customer service is REALLY GREAT! I chose to get a new number. The entire process took me less than five minutes. Good buy AT&T $55.00 phone bill!!!!

My friend recommended this service to me, and I havent been disappointed. Setup was very easy, even for a computer-illiterate like me. And I was able to transfer my Verizon telephone number over. It's been almost three months and there hasnt been a single issue. Call quality is very good. I'm a big believer in posting feedback, good or bad, on the products and services you get. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking to save money with their phone service.

This product was easy to set up and get going. I have to constantly restart my phone adapter. Sometimes I can't make calls out or can't recieve calls. A restart of the adapter always fixes this, but this shouldn't happen. Call quality is usually good, but there is often an echo. I contacted customer support thinking I need a new adapter, but they keep telling me the adapter is fine and that maybe my internet connection is not good enough, even though I get 3mb/s up and down. I have since tried Vonage and it is ten times better. Crystal clear call quality and no issues with the adapter.

It was easier than I thought! Easy installation, transferred my number in a little less than a week. Sounds great. No echo or anything. Tech support was intelligent and well spoken. Only $14.95 a month... great deal. Now I wish I had signed up for the Freedom Annual deal ($8.33 a month) I just wanted to make sure it was solid before I jumped all the way in. Features are excellent. Cheap long distance rates! VoIP is the future!!! Go for it! :)

Better service and features than we used to have on our home telephone. I have had to call customer service a few times to ask questions, and they are always on the ball. I like the many features others charge for, but Phonepower gives for free.

Great tech. support through chat. He quickly pointed me to documentation in the knowledge base for using Belkin routers with their Grandstream device (IP conflict between the two). Had some trouble getting it to work through the Netgear Gig switch I had, but eventually figured it out. Great sound quality once I worked out these issues. Only had it since 3/3/2010, but very impressed! The 60 min. international is a nice perk as well, especially since US and Canadian calls are already included in the unlimited inbound/ 5000 min. outbound plan. I also bought the $79.99 pack which got me the Grandstream device and USB portable VOIP device for free since the $79.99 was deducted from the prepaid contract amount. Plan cost: $199.95 Regulatory Recovery Fee: $11.88 911 Cost Recovery: $11.88 TAX#1001 FSLS ($199.95 x 7.3%) $14.600 1.0 $14.60 Subtotal: $223.71 Total Taxes: $14.60 Total: $238.31 From this, I expect I'll be paying $38.31 next year since I got the second plan year free.
