Simple Voice was founded in 2012 and is based in California. It provides voice services to businesses throughout the United States with the goal of providing the best possible customer service experience.
Pricing has become very competitive since its latest branding exercise, where it created the SMPL.co Website and SimpleVoice brand. There are 3 plans that customers can choose, the Standard plan, the Advanced plan and the Professional plan. The Standard plan costs just $16 per month per user and is aimed at startups and small business teams. It covers all of your calls inside the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, includes a soft phone, Internet faxing and over 20 standard business phone features. The Advanced plan adds SMS, advanced call flows, call parking and over 45 features for $22 per month per user. Finally, the Professional plan costs $32 per month per user and adds call center capabilities, an operator console to view calls and presence detection in real time, custom branding, call recording, priority support and over 65 business features. There are a few add-ons offered, such as additional local numbers for $3 per month, toll free numbers from $3 per month (plus 3c/min) and International phone number and calling, which varies by country though appears to be a little expensive compared to other providers we have seen.
Audio and video conferencing is also provided, along with screen sharing capabilities. There are 3 plans on offer for virtual meetings, a Community plan, an Advanced plan and the Professional plan. The Community plan is free to everyone, even those that are not customers. You can have up to 20 guests per virtual meeting room and it has screen sharing, full audio and video encryption and passcodes for each meeting room. The Advanced plan costs $12 per month and increases room sizes to 50 people and has a built-in Service Level Agreement (SLA) to ensure optimal quality. You can also live stream to YouTube. The Professional plan is aimed at larger businesses and adds branding, recording, phone integrations and the ability to use your own domain. You will need to contact Simple Voice to obtain pricing for this plan. No downloads are necessary for meetings, you can use an App, available from the Google and Apple stores, or can connect using Chrome and Firefox Web browsers. All of the standard meeting room features are available, such as screen sharing, raising your hand virtually and chat.
Various platform integrations are available so you can integrate your phone system with help desk tools and CRMs (Customer Relationship Management), such as ZenDesk, Salesforce, Zoho and ServiceNow. By integrating your phone system with these tools you can see customer details whenever you make or receive calls, which can be powerful for your sales and customer service teams.
SMS messaging is available and can be accessed through the Simple Voice Web portal or through the messaging App in the App stores. You can use both methods for texting, it's all synchronized on the cloud servers, which is nice. You can also setup automated responses to customers so whenever you receive a message from your customer, it will respond to them with a pre-loaded message, which is a nice feature. Integration with Zapier is also available through Webhooks, meaning you can integrate text messaging to over 2000 other applications, for example with email, Slack and many more.
There are a number of tutorials and documents in the support section of its Website to help you get up to speed on features, Apps and more. The videos in particular are very useful and should help speed up the on-boarding process.
Providing the best possible customer service experience is very important to the team at Simple Voice. From an on-boarding team to help get your phone system up and running in a seamless manner to ongoing training so you get the most out of your phone system, they appear to have it all covered.
The Company likes to give back to local communities and offers free service and reduced pricing to various non-profit organizations.
Only a handful of phones are available on its Website, mainly from Polycom and Yealink. It is likely that more phones are supported but no information is provided.
A fair use policy exists to ensure the unlimited minute plans are not taken advantage of, though nothing is stated on what the fair use policy actually is. There are also stipulations on how many devices you can have with respect to billable users. In other words you cannot have 1 billable user per month and 5 phones, the current ration is 50/50, for example 2 devices per user.
There are different Apps for voice calls, texting and meetings for iOS and Android devices. The important part is that they have their own Apps for these features, it's just a pity that it's not all integrated inside one App.
This last point is rather small but noticeable. There are lots of grammatical errors, spelling mistakes and typos on the Simple Voice Website. It's just so strange to see this, the occasional one is usually not a big deal but we found loads of them. It just seems unusual to come across this for a business Website these days, maybe they outsourced the Website and content creation. Either way, it's a little strange and off-putting.
Simple Voice provides an excellent suite of communication services to businesses in the United States. Pricing is highly competitive considering the enhanced feature set that is offered and even non-customers can use its audio and video conferencing service free of charge.
