I love Vonage. I have been with them for over two years now and very happy. Its a great price and I have never had any problems.

I have been with Vonage for many years and when I first started they were one of only a few VOIP providers in existence. Their setup, service, and quality were and continue to be excellent but I can no longer recommend them because they have continued to increase rates while offering no new service or feature to compensate for it and yet their competitors have not found the need to go this route. Thank you Vonage for the many years of service but it is time for me to move on.

Very Poor Processes: 1. Ordered and paid Vonage on 10/24/2015 via Debit Card 2. Received modem and cables on 10/28/2104 3. On 10/28/2014 also received an eMail stating the account was suspended by the Fraud Unit. 4. Called 3 times to provided phone number to the Fraud Unit and was informed to leave a voice mail. 5. Finally called Customer Service to ascertain the issue. Customer Service did not know and couldn't find out. Asked for a manager. 6. Manager finally found out that I did not answer my cell phone. My research showed the call and I informed Vonage I do not answer calls I do not recognize and their phone number and Caller ID registered as unknown. My cell phone is roaming here and I'm not going to answer the phone unless I want to talk. I informed Vonage that they need better technology and processes. If they handled this so poorly, how can I trust their billing or other processes? 7. I requested a call back so I could suppress my anger at the illogical and an answer to why I should trust them with Debit Card billing. 8. They did call back, I was calm but the manager had no answer to why I should trust their billing or processes. His only account was "Gee, we tried to call you". 9. I cancelled before I even used the service.

Most of the VOIP providers are offering quality of call (largely depends on internet speed). I do not see that as a differentiator. My India calls are short and not that frequent. So value for money is not so great. The number transfer process was tedious and slow. Technical support is not so great. Their attitude is that the customer is wrong and they are right.

I have been using Vonage for 10 years. Now I say hasta la vista to that company. I've lost my company line from one day to the other with no explanations. Worst of all is the bad sound quality. I can hardly understand my partners. It is also expensive compared to other providers out there.

I do not recommend the service to others. They do not honor their offer. I had to go to BBB. Additionally, we received a call offering a free Vonage extension and after a few months we found that they were charging for it. International phone calls and calls to customer service have bad sound quality and get disconnected. Their customer service won't call you back after disconnected call if you were complaining.

I had vonage telephone service for almost 2 years and every month I called to complain regarding the voice breaking up and on the calls people can't understand what I'm saying. This is the worst company I have ever had.

Vonage simply costs too much. I'm thinking of switching to Ooma VOIP but cannot find reviews on your site. Any reviews or comments?

Generally, I do not comment on the items I use because I know there are always pros and cons. I started using Vonage because family and friends referred them and said calls to India are free. Okay, sure. I have friends in Kuwait and Doha as well, the rates were some what better than calling cards and figured the quality will at least be 10 time better than a calling card. Boy, was I wrong. When I call international, either my voice echoed or the other person's voice did. I never received any calls made from an international number either. I payed over $60.00 a month after 3 months of $18 plus. I figured it was just my internet at first, but then I switched to Allvoi. Not only is Allvoi monthly charge cheaper, the call quality is AMAZING. No more echoing. I receive international calls perfectly and my internet speed didn't change. Allvoi charges for their modem, but it was worth it. Never going back to Vonage. Vonage charges a lot for Kuwait and Doha, Allvoi charges are HALF of what Vonage charge. I learned one thing out of this whole thing, free always doesn't mean quality.

I have had Vonage since the beginning (2001). We use it as our primary landline and use our cell phones only for emergencies or when shopping (Pay as you go). I was distressed to discover our Vonage bill was over $30 some months and decided to try Magic Jack on a trial basis (still on trial!!). BUT as a long term customer Vonage agreed to lower my monthly cost (now about $19 total).
