The only reason I switched to Vonage was for a better rate to call UA. The sound quality was worse and I had many problems with the lady getting my calls. I called her and there was no answer & she would email me back saying I never called. I had this problem all the time.

Before moving to the US from Ireland I generated phone bills of over $600/month. So getting a good VOIP service was a no brainer for me. I did check out others, but selected Vonage for the list of included features, I esp. like the E911 and anonymous call block.

I recently signed-up for Vonage Unlimited Global to the Philippines and had my account suspended because of talking too long on the phone. It turns out there is a limit after all. They explained that it is explained that it is based on the average time of the other callers. How is this unlimited service? This is listed in their policy where they changed the meaning of the word unlimited to "normal use". However the policy in on the bottom of the screen and does not spell what the average times are. Where is the unlimited service? This is from an email from Vonage: Does this sound like unlimited service? At this time, you can remain on your current Vonage Unlimited to Globe Philippines plan, but we would need to see your calling patterns stay within the normal residential guidelines. Use of more than 3,000 international minutes per month is one of, but not the only, indicator we use to assess whether usage is outside of normal residential use.
VISITOR/PROVIDER FEEDBACK:
Dan (Dec 31st 2103) : Sounds to me you are running a business line on a residential plan.
Simon (Feb 10th, 2014) : Unlimited should mean unlimited. In any case, what is normal? Normal for whom, especially if it is not even stated. Thus normal is a variable that can simply be changed whenever it suits the supplier?! This sounds like unfair contract, that's what this is.
WhichVoIP (Feb 12th, 2014) : Most providers will have a "reasonable usage" policy related to their unlimited minute plans. These caps are typically high to give the appearance of unlimited whilst protecting themselves somewhat. This information is not always easy to find and is typically noted in provider's T&C's. We gathered this information for many popular providers here for our visitors.

Vonnage sent me a modum to connect, it did not work. After five months, they charged me double the quoted amount for the first three months, quoted $9.95 charged me $18.00 plus each month, then raised rate to $35.00 month. I called customer service, tried to cancel explaining again that the service doesn't work, has never worked, they told me they would charge me $99.00 to cancel the service even if the service never worked. I worked my way up the food chain to the manager, in each case Vonnage refused to waive the $99.00 cancellation fee even after I explained that I have been very ill and I am 70 years old without the ability to fix this phone service. Use this company at your own risk, it will end up costing you more than a service from a cable provider, the service will work with a cable provider, add to this there is no cancellation fee!.

When I contracted Vonage , it was the only service of VOIP that you could consider as a great service and reliable, I got Vonage from day one they started on the market, and you can check if you want; a year after the service continue to be great, so I purchase 10 modems with their service as a present to friends and cousins, so we could be in contact; I used overseas for my private use; in the coming month Vonage started to work terrible, so I purchase a small IP PABX, and conected to my Panasonic PABX 8x32 overseas and the US and we have a whole little Network going on between families and friends, at least until I find a good service again...!!! Many people have given me the Magic Jack, so I could connected direct to ou big PABX as a extension, but with all my respect I consider them a toy; I have also tried IP App for the iPhone and iPad, they work great and they are free; all though I preffer to pay and get a great service; it looks like with Vonage today is a diferent story. Sorry on my English Grammar...!!!

Vonage is an excellent voip provider. Generally the service is ok. Price is aceptable. Con's. You can not block a phone number you do not want to receive calls. Monthly price varies because of taxes; you can not verify it.

Vonage Phone Service and their customer service are really bad. I am not sure how they are still surviving. Please be aware that they can decide the charges and apply it from your credit card, and U will never get it back. My advise is to be off from this service provider.

I signed up for vonage and really found a company that does not care about anything except their profits. They advertised $9.99 for ONE YEAR which was a little less then what I had,but when I found out I would have to run an additional line I called and was told that I did not know anything about wiring. Theman I talked to was as rude as they come, his attitude put me on the course of cancellation. In all I spoke to two people that were not rude and knew what they were doing.

From the moment we connected Vonage it was bad. Bad quality sound and internet crawled. It also screwed up our wireless, which we need for our solar. We finally cancelled after it didn't get any better. We still after 26 days have been unable to get our number ported over. Vonage keeps stating that they never received request, and they never refuse porting of one's number, but they seem to be holding mine hostage. They keep saying they want to try and fix the service to make it better and keep our account. I have had it at this point. I am paying for two phone carriers, neither of which I can receive calls on at this moment!
