Have had Vonage for six years and even though the service never changes their prices go up too often and too much. I am now paying more than $11 in taxes and fees on a phone bill that is $25. I understand some of the taxes, but there are now monthly fees for 411 service that I never use and I am charged $2 twice for my 911 service. After the $10 mark in fees, I have decided to look elsewhere.

I have been a Vonage customer for about 4 years and It continues to work real good. Customer service has gotten better. You must have good broadband service for Vonage to work good. If your broadband service is not up to par then your Vonage service will suffer.

been with Vonage for 5 yrs. they have significantly improved the call quality. i have been using the service for work. very reliable service and call quality is extremely high, i travel with vonage in many countries, canada, brasil, argentina, china... all seamless calls. i have high confidence in the service. area for improvement: make the Voice Pro "skype" like service more competitive pricing. the $34.95 per month plan is at least $10- more expensive than skpe although skpe does not deliver as high and reliable call quality.

You can't send fax with iTlakBB, and the sound quality is bad, there are echos sometime and get disconnected if you talk for a while.

I just switched from ViaTalk to Vonage due to free unlimited World calling and unlimited US & Canada minutes. Best value for your money. Unlike ViaTalk and VOIP.COM, they have too many hidden charges, other suprising monthly fees and difficult to get them off hook when you are finishing your contract. You really have to read the fine prints and ask them to give in writing for the terms you agree. Final word, don't go to ViaTalk or VOIP.COM. Currently Vonage is good, but not the best. I am planning to try Ooma next.

Please read the fine print, you have to have service for 24 months or there is a $39.99 disconnect fee. I spoke with a rep who offered me 2 months free servcie, which was never given. I ended up having to speak with a supervisor, who said she couldnt change past dated invoices, but about 30 minutes later offered and did change the past invoice. I went to the Better Business Site, and Vonage has over 8,000 complaints and is rated a C-. Also all calls are recorded and the reps they have are hard to understand, so hard to say what you may be agreeing too.

I am a systems integrator. I work with data, phone, TV and security systems everyday. I set up systems for colleges and hotels. I tried Vonage for our new office phone system. I could not get it to ring through consistently. Calls were not completed, some were dropped. For one week I had no phones at all. Customers would write e-mail or call my cell phone to ask if we were still in business. They would get messages saying that my number was disconnected or that it was not valid. I spent over 11 hours on-line or on hold trying to get help, most of it on hold. When I called to cancel service I told them that I needed to keep the number and it would take a few days for the phone company to connect me again. They cut me off right then. I had no phone service. Qwest could not reconnect me with that number unless it was active. I had to spend 3 hours trying to get Vonage to activate the number again. Then they gave me a temporary number for 3 days, which no one knew to call, before I got my old number and same crappy service back. When I was finally connected to a land line again they gave me a $12.50 credit for my troubles. Vonage should be put out of business. They ruined mine for almost a month. They have a cruddy product, lousy service and tech support and terrible business practices. If you have to choose between two cans and a string and Vonage, take the cans and string. You'll be happier with the service.

Compared to Fonvantage, Vonage is a DREAM! I had little problem getting set up - used both business and residential services - had a fax line and NEVER had a problem with the service. I even serial linked the residential and business modems and they worked like a charm. I would recommend Vonage to anyone!
